🎉 We have officially reached our capital campaign goal of $42 million! This was made possible thanks to the incredibly generous support of our donors.

However, our fundraising work for the Our Community, Our Future campaign is not yet complete. We are facing escalating construction costs as we strive to expand vitally important care for patients. Every gift, of any amount, will make a difference.

To make a donation, visit dhmcalumdev.hitchcock.org/giving/cmc/capital-campaign.

In 2023, we started a partnership with New England College to strengthen the rural health workforce by creating a direct pathway from classrom to a clinical setting.

The first cohort began clinical placements here in May 2024, working as licensed nursing assistants while earning credits toward their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. Now, following their graduation, many students from the first cohort are staying here or within the Dartmouth Health system.

“Our leaders appreciate knowing they have a pool of qualified candidates who have already shown that they can thrive as members of the team ... and this first class demonstrates how successful this model can be," said our Chief Nursing Officer Anne Tyrol, MHA, MSN, RN, CENP, FACHE.

There shouldn’t be barriers to injury prevention.

That’s why our Family & Community Care clinic started its Injury Prevention Resource Room, which provides free items to ensure the safety of its patients and staff. These items include gun locks, helmets, baby gates and life jackets.

🌟 Congratulations to Jake Huckins, RN, one of our ICU nurses, who was recently named a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient!

The DAISY Award is a national recognition that honors the exceptional care nurses provide to patients and families.

"Jake’s medical competence is second to none," the patient who nominated Huckins said. "But his ability to assess patients and see us as human beings with unique needs who deserve dignity and respect is what sets him apart."

This initiative trained 425 Greater Monadnock Region residents and 2,165 people statewide. Thank you to all who signed up!

We've reached an exciting milestone in the construction of our new linear accelerator, which will be used to deliver radiation therapy to patients.

The beam that will support the vault doors leading into the new accelerator will be installed soon. To commemorate this, we asked employees and donors to come and sign it last week.

The linear accelerator construction is part of our ongoing capital campaign—Our Community, Our Future—which will also help us expand surgical services and advanced outpatient medicine. To learn more about the campaign or to make a gift, visit cheshiremed.org/chf

In recognition of Memorial Day, Dartmouth Health’s Military Employee Resource Group (Military ERG) is co-sponsoring The Missing Man table, a symbolic military tradition honoring prisoners of war and those missing in action.

The table features a single place setting at a 3-foot table with an empty chair, an inverted glass, a red rose and a candle, each representing the hope, sacrifice and bitter fate of missing service members. The table will be on display in our main lobby from Memorial Day to July 4.

Dartmouth Health’s Military ERG brings together military service members, veterans, families and supporters to create a welcoming environment at Dartmouth Health. The group includes members of Hinsdale's Rolling Thunder Inc., NH Chapter 3, an organization that strives to raise awareness about the Prisoner of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) issue and to help provide hands-on support to local Veterans.
