PART 2 OF 3

Neuromodulators: What’s the Difference?

Botox Cosmetic®…
Dysport®…
Xeomin®…
Jeuveau®…
Daxxify®…

Patients ask me all the time…

“Which one is the best?”

The answer may surprise you.

✅ They’re all FDA-approved.
✅ They all work by temporarily blocking acetylcholine.
✅ They all relax targeted muscles.

Where they differ is in their formulation, onset of action, duration, and individual characteristics.

The “best” neuromodulator isn’t necessarily the newest one or the one your friend gets.

It’s the one that’s best suited to your facial anatomy, your muscle movement, and your treatment goals.

That’s why a personalized consultation matters.

📻 Join me this Tuesday as we compare all five FDA-approved neuromodulators and separate facts from myths.

Beyond Botox®: How Neuromodulators Work

Did you know Botox® is actually just one brand name?

Neuromodulators are FDA-approved injectable medications that temporarily relax specific muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles.

But how do they actually work?

They temporarily block acetylcholine, the chemical messenger that tells a muscle to contract. As the muscle relaxes, the overlying skin has a chance to smooth, softening expression lines while maintaining a natural appearance.

✨ Today’s key takeaway:
Neuromodulators don’t “fill” wrinkles—they temporarily interrupt the communication between a nerve and a muscle.

Join me this Tuesday as we break down the science behind wrinkle relaxers in a way that’s easy to understand.

You've got a shelf full of serums. You drink your water. You wear your SPF.

And yet your skin still looks... tired. Patchy. Not quite right.

Sometimes skincare products can only do so much — especially when years of sun exposure, hormonal changes, and just life in general have affected the deeper layers of your skin.

Elite iQ treats uneven skin tone and texture at a level that topical products simply can't reach.

Clients describe the results as 'my skin but so much better.' Brighter. Smoother. More even. The kind of skin that makes you want to skip the heavy foundation.

And yes — it's safe year-round, even here in South Florida.

Book a free consultation. Let's figure out what your skin actually needs.

🌿 Medical Matters with Nikki the Nurse – Weekly Recap 🌿

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to Medical Matters with Nikki the Nurse on Keys Talk Radio this week!

This week’s topic focused on Cyclospora, a microscopic parasite that causes an intestinal illness called cyclosporiasis. While many people have never heard of it, cases are increasing during the summer months across the United States, including here in Florida.

🥗 Here are the key takeaways:

✅ Cyclospora is most commonly linked to fresh fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, and herbs.

✅ Symptoms usually begin 2–14 days after exposure and may include:
• Watery diarrhea
• Stomach cramps
• Bloating and gas
• Nausea
• Fatigue
• Loss of appetite
• Weight loss

✅ One unique feature of Cyclospora is that symptoms can improve… then return again if left untreated.

✅ The illness is treatable, but it requires specific stool testing because it isn’t usually detected on routine stool cultures.

✅ The first-line treatment is trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim®/Septra®). If someone cannot take sulfa medications, a healthcare provider may consider other options based on the individual situation.

💧 Don’t forget: Persistent diarrhea can quickly lead to dehydration, especially during our hot Florida summer. Stay hydrated and seek medical attention if symptoms are severe, last more than a few days, or you notice signs of dehydration.

🍓 Most importantly… don’t stop eating fresh fruits and vegetables! They are an important part of a healthy diet. Instead, practice good food safety:
✔️ Wash produce under running water.
✔️ Wash your hands before preparing food.
✔️ Refrigerate perishable foods promptly.
✔️ Separate fresh produce from raw meats during food preparation.

Thank you for allowing me to share evidence-based health information with our Florida Keys community each week.
