Emplify Health by Gundersen has two flu shot clinics open on weekdays through Nov. 20, and one now stays open on Wednesday evenings until 6 p.m. That makes it easier to fit a flu shot in after work, before the season's busiest weeks.

Whether it was wrapping bandages, testing reflexes, looking at eardrums, or even touching real human organs, students at Sand Lake Elementary School got to see and do it all during Science of Medicine Day with our medical residents and staff! We believe that great care starts with childlike curiosity like this. 🩹

Everyone in our communities deserves to feel safe at home, and no one should have to face domestic abuse alone. The Purple Porch Project invites people, families, and organizations to display purple lights as a visible sign of solidarity with survivors. Each light carries a message: You matter, support exists, and a future free from abuse is possible. We believe hope is stronger when a community stands beside you.

Before you see your provider, you see a medical assistant. More than 400 work in our clinics across the region, and this year their colleagues submitted more than 100 nominations highlighting the difference they make.

Kathy A., Stephanie C., Heather C., Jessica H., and Lauren T. stood out. The same themes came up again and again: anticipating needs, solving problems before they reach the patient, and treating everyone with kindness, whether that means reviewing medications or playing peek-a-boo.

"A strong team of medical assistants translates directly to exceptional patient care and patient experience," said Erica Ericksen, DNP, RN, interim director of nursing.

The Houston clinic will be closed on October 19 and 21 because no provider will be available. Lab services, imaging, and a nurse will be available until noon; after that, the clinic will be fully closed. No provider will be available all day.
