Road trips, flights, hotel beds, and long days exploring can all flare up back pain if your body isn’t moving enough ✈️🚗☀️

A few simple travel tips can make a big difference:
• Get up and move regularly
• Stretch during long drives or flights
• Use a small pillow or lumbar support if needed
• Keep luggage close to your body when lifting
• Stay consistent with simple core and mobility exercises

The goal isn’t perfect posture — it’s keeping your body moving and avoiding staying in one position too long. Enjoy the trip and take care of your back along the way!

Summer plans hit different when your back isn’t barking at you ☀️🌊

A few simple core exercises — TA activation, planks, and bird dogs — can help build stability, improve posture, and keep your low back happier for all the summer things: travel, workouts, hikes, beach days, and long weekends.

Strong core = better movement, less stiffness, and more freedom to enjoy the season

Most people think of physical therapy as something you do only after a surgery or a major accident. In reality, you should think of a physical therapist as a movement consultant.

Here is how a quick check-up can help you stay active this season:

● Injury Prevention: We are trained to identify movement patterns that cause pain
before a major injury occurs.
● Customized Planning: We can create a plan to help you safely transition back to your favorite sports or leisure activities.
● Pain Management: If those morning jogs are already causing knee or back discomfort, we can help ease that pain and keep you moving.

Think of your core like a natural back brace. These muscles wrap around your middle and support your spine all day long. When your core is weak, your back muscles have to work overtime. That's when pain strikes.

Your core includes more than just abs. It's actually four main muscle groups:
● Deep abdominal muscles
● Back muscles along your spine
● Pelvic floor muscles
● Diaphragm (your breathing muscle)

It is easy to expect our bodies to pick up exactly where we left off at the end of last season.

But jumping right back into those activity levels after months off is often a recipe for an injury. Even if you feel great during your first few outings, the cumulative stress of repetitive motion, like running or sports, can quickly stir up aches and pains.

This is especially true as we age, because our ability to move undergoes natural changes over time. Without proper planning, a sudden increase in intensity can lead to avoidable injuries that might sideline you for the rest of the summer.
