Please help us welcome a new counselor to the Overcomer Counseling family, Lily Hayes. Lily earned her Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling from the University of Wyoming in the spring of 2025. She has experience working in a K–2 school setting, where she spent a year supporting young children in their academic, social, and emotional development. This experience deepened her passion for helping children and families build strong foundations for lifelong growth and well-being.
Lily utilizes an integrated Child-Centered and Adlerian approach to therapy, emphasizing connection, encouragement, and understanding each individual’s unique experiences. She creates a safe, supportive environment where children feel free to lead sessions through play and expression, while gently guiding them in building confidence, a sense of belonging, and emotional awareness. Through this approach, Lily helps children express thoughts and feelings they may not yet have words for, while also recognizing their strengths and developing skills to navigate challenges.
Her approach is rooted in the belief that each individual has the capacity for growth and change. She strives to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Lily works collaboratively with clients to build insight, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, lasting change, while also supporting caregivers in understanding and reinforcing their child’s progress.
Lily has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as those navigating anxiety, behavioral concerns, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
