🎒 Today’s the day! Join us at the Cri Cri Back-to-School Event in Sunland Park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 📚 Stop by the Aprendamos table to meet our team. We hope to see you there! 👋

📚🎒 Investing in our children is one of the greatest investments we can make in the future of Sunland Park.

I am thrilled that my esteemed colleague, Councilwoman Alicia Salmon, shared this noteworthy community event with me. Opportunities such as this reflect the positive impact that can be achieved when organizations, community leaders, and local partners come together in support of our youth.

I encourage families to attend the Cri Cri Learning Center Back to School Event on July 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 2101-2 McNutt Road. This wonderful event will provide free backpacks, school supplies, family resources, entertainment, and many other exciting activities.

To make the experience even more memorable, members of the Sunland Park Police Department and Sunland Park Fire Department will also be in attendance, giving families and children an opportunity to interact with the dedicated public servants who work every day to keep our community safe.

As a community, we grow stronger when our children are given the tools, encouragement, and support they need to succeed. A new school year brings new opportunities, new goals, and new dreams. Let us continue working together to ensure every student begins the year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

👶 18-Month Milestones

Toddlers are becoming more independent while still looking to trusted adults for comfort and reassurance. 💙

By 18 months, many children are walking, communicating with words and gestures, exploring their surroundings, and beginning to engage in pretend play. They may even move away to explore but look back to make sure you're still close by—a sign of growing confidence and connection.

Remember, every child develops at their own pace. Milestones are meant to be a guide, not a comparison. 🌱

👶 Early Developmental Milestones: What Many Babies Do by 12 Months

Your baby's first year is full of exciting growth and discoveries! While every child develops at their own pace, these are some milestones many babies reach by 12 months of age. 💙

By 12 months, many babies:
✨ Pull up to stand
✨ Walk holding onto furniture
✨ Put objects in containers (like a block in a cup)
✨ Look for hidden toys
✨ Wave bye-bye
✨ Say "mama," "dada," or another special name
✨ Understand "no"
✨ Play pat-a-cake
✨ Drink from a cup with help
✨ Pick up small foods with their thumb and finger
