Every great employee deserves a retirement… and this one has certainly earned hers! 💙

Meet Old Blue, one of the original members of the Tooth Protectors family!

Since day one in 2009, Old Blue has traveled all across the beautiful state of Maine, helping us bring preventive dental care to communities, schools, and patients who need it most.

Through countless miles, early mornings, long days, Maine winters, and 17 incredible seasons of service, she's been right there with us, helping carry out our mission.

And believe it or not… she's still going strong! 💪

But even the most dependable members of the team eventually deserve to put their tires up.

This year, Old Blue will officially be retiring. 💙

She may not have collected a paycheck, but she's certainly put in the hours!

As we look back on 17 seasons of trusted care, we're reminded that sometimes the things that help build an organization aren't just the people, but the faithful little workhorses that help get them where they need to go.

Thank you, Old Blue, for 17 years of miles, memories, and helping us bring smiles across Maine.

🦷💙 A Wonderful Day at Lakewood Nursing Home!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our friends at Lakewood Nursing Home for another wonderful visit!

Tooth Protectors, Inc. has had the pleasure of providing dental services to Lakewood residents for several years, and we are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership, trust, and warm welcome we receive each time we visit. 💕

This visit, our team members Paula and Amanda had the opportunity to spend the day providing dental care and connecting with residents.

💙 One of the things we love most about public health dentistry is the relationships we build along the way.

For many older adults, accessing traditional dental care can be challenging. Transportation, mobility limitations, and medical conditions can create barriers to receiving routine oral healthcare.

That's why bringing dental services directly into nursing homes and long-term care facilities is such an important part of what we do!

We believe that oral health matters at every age, and every individual deserves access to compassionate, respectful, and quality dental care.

💗 To the wonderful staff at Lakewood, thank you for your continued dedication to your residents and for working alongside us to make these visits possible.

One of those valuable services is Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), a cavity-arresting treatment that can help stop existing tooth decay from progressing!

💗 Why is SDF so important in public health dentistry?

Not every child has easy access to a dentist. Transportation challenges, financial barriers, provider shortages, and long wait times can make getting dental treatment difficult.
