So grateful for all of our Clinical Instructors and the Site Coordinators of Clinical Education who get our students in the door to build their clinical experience! When it's UK alum, all the sweeter! Check out the Morgans below as a great example. Class of 2027 finishes up their first full-time clinical today!!

We will miss our University of Kentucky PT student Morgan so much! All of our patients loved her and although we hate to see her go back to school to finish her Doctorate, we know she is going to go on and do awesome things! Go be great! 💪

Our latest Shoulder to Shoulder Global brigade recently returned, and there are some exciting updates:
The highlight of this brigade was the celebration of the opening of the expanded University of Kentucky Shoulder to Shoulder Health Center in the neighborhood of Carlos Ruiz Burneo, where Lynn English has been involved for 18 years.
In previous years, the physician, nurse, administrator, community health worker and other staff worked in small rooms, sharing space, while patients waited outside, under roof, or under tents until staff were ready for them. When UK teams visited, three times a year, physical therapy was provided in a covered pavilion with open sides, using sheets as dividers for privacy.
The clinic sports a new wing, housing exam rooms, dentistry, pharmacy, lab, health promotion space and offices. There are also 5 accessible bathrooms.
A remodeled space allows for shaded ventilated transitional areas between the new wing and the space now converted into a rehabilitation clinic.
The rehab clinic serves a neighborhood of 40,000 people that has not had any consistent rehabilitation available until now. Receiving rehab required bus travel and costs that exceeded most families’ ability to pay.
Currently STSG employ a part time physical therapist who will serve the clinic. A typical fee for visit if $6.00. We brought many wheelchairs and other equipment which will now be distributed methodically and fitted appropriately without the months-long wait previously required.

Please scroll these photos of before and after. T

Two plaques were revealed one honoring STSG founder Tom Young and our major donor, and one outside the rehab clinic honoring Lynn English, faculty emeritus and driver of the PT presence at STSG.

We are always excited to have alumni and clinical faculty join on the 3 brigades each year! Reach out if interested!!

📢🦵The UK BioMotion Lab is hiring a PT! This sports medicine and biomechanics research environment focuses on improving recovery after ACL reconstruction, lower extremity sports injuries, and traumatic orthopedic injuries. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys high-quality rehabilitation, objective testing, return-to-sport decision-making, and working at the intersection of clinical care and research.

The PT in this role will evaluate and treat patients enrolled in our research clinical trials, including athletes and active individuals progressing from surgery through return to sport. They will regularly use objective strength and functional testing to guide phased rehabilitation progressions and will work closely with our research team, athletic trainers, coaches, surgeons, and other physical therapists involved in the patient’s care.

There is no insurance billing, and the clinic is designed to support high-quality care, objective decision-making, and research-informed rehabilitation. We offer competitive pay and benefits, a modern clinic with the equipment needed to do this work well, and opportunities, if desired, to contribute to research presentations at national meetings.

Reach out to Dr. Noehren if interested!

Headed by Brian Noehren PT, PhD, FACSM, we study how movement and muscle dysfunction affect pain and function within injured orthopedic populations.
