🍌🍨 A Sweet First for Mrs. Harden! 🍨🍌

During the Great Depression, treats like ice cream and bananas were considered luxuries that many families rarely enjoyed. This week, Mrs. Harden got to experience something she had never had before... a Banana Split! πŸŽ‰

She even came prepared with her own banana, just in case we needed it! πŸ’› We were thrilled to make her wish come true, and she has been telling everyone she sees just how delicious it was, especially the chocolate ice cream! 🍫🍦

Moments like these remind us that joy can be found at any age and that it's never too late to try something new. 😊

✨ Other items often considered luxuries during the Great Depression included: πŸ₯© Meat
🍊 Fresh fruit
β˜• Coffee
🍬 Candy
🧈 Butter
🧡 New clothing
πŸ“» Radios

❓What is a special treat or luxury you remember from your childhood that always brought a smile to your face?

We'd love to hear your memories in the comments! ❀️

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Kasey Heavilin 🌟

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Kasey Heavilin, our energetic and dedicated Assisted Living Life Enrichment Coordinator! We have been truly blessed to have Kasey on our team over the past year. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and genuine love for our residents make a difference every day.

πŸ’¬ Why does Kasey love working with seniors?

"I enjoy working with seniors because I get to hear the life stories of people from different backgrounds and experiences than my own. It makes me excited to age and for my own life journey. Helping our residents continue doing what they love and experience new hobbies and games is a thrill. We learn a lot from each other, and they help keep me grounded. They're also the only people who think I'm funny 😊."

Kasey's passion for enriching the lives of our residents shines through in everything she does. Thank you, Kasey, for bringing joy, laughter, and meaningful experiences to our community every day! ❀️
