Hey! Did you know every behavior follows an ABC pattern?

๐Ÿ”น A = Antecedent โ€“ What happens right before the behavior. A demand, a transition, a sensory change, a denied request.

๐Ÿ”น B = Behavior โ€“ The observable action. Yelling, signing "break," hand-flapping, completing a task. If you can see it or measure it, it's a behavior.

๐Ÿ”น C = Consequence โ€“ What happens immediately after the behavior. In ABA, this doesn't mean punishment. It simply means the outcome , and that outcome either increases or decreases the likelihood the behavior will happen again.

Example:
A= denied access to outside because itโ€™s raining
B= child begins to cry
C= redirecting child to inside activity

No judgment. Just mechanics.
