WHAT EXACTLY IS PRP? 🩸

You may have heard of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), but have you ever wondered what it actually is or how it’s prepared?

PRP is a concentrated preparation of platelets derived from a patient’s own blood. Platelets play an important role in the body’s natural response to injury and contain growth factors involved in tissue repair processes.

So, where does the centrifuge come in?

During PRP preparation, a small sample of blood is collected and placed into a centrifuge, which spins the sample to separate its components based on their density. This process allows a platelet-rich portion to be collected and prepared for its intended use.

WHAT HAPPENS UNDER PRESSURE? 🫧

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is more than simply breathing oxygen. The pressure is an important part of the process.

During HBOT, the pressure inside the chamber is increased above normal atmospheric pressure while oxygen is breathed.
