Video games in therapy can be so much more than “just playing games.” 🎮

Games can help kids and teens build communication skills, practice emotional regulation, strengthen problem-solving skills, learn teamwork, and increase confidence, all in a way that feels engaging and safe.

For many children and teens, play creates connection. Sometimes it’s easier to open up while racing in Mario Kart, working together in It Takes Two, or solving challenges in Pico Park than sitting face-to-face in a traditional conversation.

Therapy can meet kids where they are, and sometimes that includes a controller, teamwork, laughter, and meaningful moments in between. 💛

ADHD is often misunderstood. 💛

It is more than being “hyper” or distracted. ADHD can impact focus, motivation, emotional regulation, organization, routines, and everyday functioning in ways others may not always see.

Many children, teens, and adults with ADHD are trying incredibly hard while silently struggling with overwhelm, executive functioning challenges, and feeling misunderstood.

Support, understanding, and the right tools can make a huge difference. ADHD is not laziness or a lack of effort, it’s a different way the brain processes and manages information. ✨

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little more about my heart behind KindMind Counseling. 🤍

My name is Zoe Clasen, and I am passionate about helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space. I created KindMind Counseling with the goal of providing compassionate, relatable, and personalized care for individuals and families in our community.

Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, self-esteem, life transitions, parenting challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to help clients feel seen, heard, and empowered with tools they can use in everyday life.

Big emotions can feel overwhelming for kids sometimes, but coping skills help them learn that feelings are manageable, not scary. 💛

Teaching children healthy coping tools early helps build emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience as they grow.

Some coping skills may seem simple, but when practiced consistently, they can make a huge difference in helping kids regulate emotions, calm their bodies, and communicate their needs more effectively.

I am so excited to share that my friends at Fire Grounds Coffee Shop - Station 1 are hosting FREE weekly events every Monday from 5:00–7:00 PM for teens and tweens in our community this Summer! ☕✨
