Meet one of our pharmacists, Kevin Schultz!
Kevin chose to become a pharmacist because he wanted to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives. His favorite part of being a pharmacist is forming relationships with customers and building trust with them. At Smith Pharmacy, he values the opportunity to put patients first without the pressure of corporate goals, and he appreciates working alongside an amazing team.
His pharmacy journey started at UW Madison where he graduated in 2001. His class was the first to graduate after the switch from the Bachelor to the PharmD program! His first job was at Shopko where he worked in multiple stores, including Plover, De Pere, and Menasha. He was promoted to Pharmacy Manager at the Menasha store in 2011 and worked there until they closed in 2019. Then he took a job at Walgreens in Neenah and worked there from 2019-2023. Working there through Covid was quite the experience! From 2023 to present he has been at Smith Pharmacy and hopes to ride out into the "retirement sunset!"
A fun fact about Kevin is that he was a part of the Mad Hatters, a men's acapella choir at UW Madison. One of his favorite "gigs" was going around to nursing homes and singing Christmas carols to the residents. He loved how much they appreciated the company. They would also have concerts in the music hall on campus and would travel to other colleges to perform. It was a blast and a nice break from studying pharmacokinetics!
Outside of the pharmacy, Kevin enjoys birding, coin collecting, and watching Wisconsin sports teams. He recently celebrated 25 years of marriage with his lovely wife, Sarah! Together they have three kids: Sydney, Julia, and Zach. They also have two furry kids, Lucy (dog) and Cleo (cat).
