🔎 Case No. 01: The Swirls on Kavanaugh
My darlings, Kavanaugh Boulevard has not stopped whispering since Friday.
Miss Vivian Hollis threw a Hillcrest supper to show off her brand-new stainless steel refrigerator. By morning, the door was covered in tiny scratches. Not random ones, mind you. Neat little swirls, round as pennies, marching across the shine.

Three guests touched that door. Coach Briggs attacked a ketchup splatter with the green side of a kitchen sponge and announced it took him five minutes flat. Mrs. Odell gave the whole door a polish with her microfiber cloth, straight up and down like her mother taught her. And Young Miss Rae leaned against it all night in her studded denim jacket.

Miss Vivian is certain it was the jacket. The Whitfield twins are certain it was not.
Who scratched the fridge?

Maya used to love her little place: sunlight on the floor, fresh flowers in a mason jar, a welcome mat out front.

But then the heavy season came, the kind you can't explain. Her job got hard, her mama got sick, and her heart felt full of rain.

At first it was a cup or two,
a jacket on the chair.
Then dishes stacked like mountain tops,
and clothes piled everywhere.

She'd come home tired and close the door and tell herself, “tomorrow.” But tomorrow came with more of the same, more mess, and more sorrow.

She missed a bill she couldn't find beneath the stacks of mail. She lost her keys and missed her shift. She felt like she was failing.

The mess outside became the mess inside,
each one fed the other.
She stopped inviting friends to come,
stopped answering her mother.

Some nights she'd sit on the edge of the bed and stare at all the clutter. Every corner seemed to whisper, “You can't. You won't. Why bother?”

One evening her friend Keisha knocked. Maya didn't open at first. But Keisha just kept knocking.

When Maya cracked the door, she cried. "I'm so embarrassed. Please don't look."

Keisha hugged her in the doorway and said, "Girl, it's just a room. It's not a book on who you are."

“You don't have to fix it all alone,
you don't have to carry the weight.
There's no shame in reaching out,
and it's never ever too late."

So Maya made two calls that week. One to someone she could talk to about the heaviness inside, and one to a cleaning crew who came with kindness and no side-eye.

They didn't ask her what went wrong. They didn't sigh or stare. They opened windows, cleared the floors, and let in fresh new air.

When the last dish was put away,
and the sunlight touched the floor,
Maya took a breath so deep
she hadn't breathed like that in months.

Her space didn't fix everything. Healing takes its time. But now she had room to think, room to rest, and room to feel just fine.

She found her bills. She found her keys. She bought a flower too. She put it in that mason jar.

Sometimes the bravest thing you'll do
is say, "I need a hand."
Not because you're weak or lazy,
but because you're human, and we understand.

If this is you right now your mess isn't a measure of your worth. It's okay to call a friend, a counselor, or a crew like ours. Asking for help is a strength. 🤍

Clean and disinfected are not the same thing.

Cleaning removes dirt, grime and buildup.
Disinfecting kills germs, and most disinfectants need to sit wet on the surface for a set amount of time to actually work.

Spray and wipe right away? You mostly just cleaned.

We clean first, then disinfect, and we let the product do its job.

Not everyone has a full house to come home to this season. Some people are doing the holidays alone for the first time, or the tenth time. We see you.

The holidays get marketed as the happiest time of year, but for a lot of people, they’re the hardest. If that’s you this year, you’re not the only one, even when it feels that way.
