Cats evolved getting much of their water from their food, which helps explain why many cats have a relatively low thirst drive. That makes the moisture in their bowl especially important.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a long-term condition in which the kidneys progressively lose function. While hydration cannot prevent or cure CKD, maintaining adequate hydration is an important part of supporting cats—particularly those already living with kidney disease. ❤️

One simple way to increase dietary moisture? Put more moisture in the bowl!

🥩 Choose moisture-rich foods when appropriate
🥛 Add extra hydration with foods like fermented goat’s milk
💧 Incorporate moisture-rich toppers such as Jiggles

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — HONORING THE FOUR-LEGGED HEROES OF 9/11 🐾

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward unimaginable danger.

We also remember the heroes who served on four legs.

More than 300 dogs are estimated to have participated in the search, rescue, and recovery efforts at Ground Zero. Search-and-rescue dogs climbed unstable piles of debris searching for survivors. Recovery dogs worked alongside their handlers as the mission changed. Therapy dogs offered moments of comfort to exhausted firefighters and rescue workers.

These dogs worked in incredibly difficult conditions. Veterinarians stationed at the site cared for them as they worked long shifts, repeatedly cleaning their paws, eyes, and noses from exposure to the debris.

And among them was Sirius, a Port Authority Police K-9 believed to have been the only police dog killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Twenty-five years later, their service remains part of the story we promise never to forget.

Some wore collars.
We remember them all.

We spend a lot of time thinking about what goes into our cats—but what they step into several times a day deserves attention too.

Cats dig in litter, walk through it, get particles on their paws and coat, and then groom themselves. When you groom, you consume. Small amounts of litter and dust can be swallowed during normal grooming, which is one reason we care about choosing a low-dust, thoughtfully formulated litter.

And your cat probably has opinions! Feline guidance generally favors fine-textured, unscented clumping litter, while strong fragrances can discourage some cats from using their box. Many cats also prefer a roomy, uncovered box that gives them space to turn around and see their surroundings.
