WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH IVERMECTIN AND FENBENDAZOL?
Two antiparasitic medications, ivermectin and fenbendazole, have attracted attention for their potential use in human cancer treatment.
Ivermectin has a long history of successful use against certain parasitic infections in humans. Researchers are now investigating whether it might also have a role in cancer treatment. The University of Florida in Gainesville has a clinical research program studying ivermectin's effects when combined with cancer immunotherapy, including its impact on immune cells.
Fenbendazole, a veterinary antiparasitic medication, has shown some interesting effects in laboratory cancer research. However, its effectiveness and safety as a cancer treatment in humans have not been fully established. Fenbendazol has been used since the 1980s in treating river blindness in humans and continues to be used to treat strongyloidiasis and scabies in humans.
