Addy is our newest therapist her at THRIVE! Addy is passionate about creating a warm and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. She takes a strengths-based approach and enjoy helping individuals and families build healthier relationships, navigate life's challenges, and recognize their own resilience.

I have always wanted to help people see and find their own strengths even when they think they don’t have any or can’t find them!

Maria Lopez is our newest therapist here at THRIVE. Maria is passionate about empowering women, LGBTQIA+, Latine, and BIPOC individuals and families. Her goal is to create a safe space where all individuals feel welcome and to empower them through a down-to-earth, strength-based approach. Whether you are figuring out who you are, learning how to set boundaries, heal from painful experiences, or trying to prioritize yourself, Maria can help you build up confidence, self-understanding, and a stronger sense of self. If you think Maria would be a good fit for you, get scheduled today!

Below are some questions to help you get to know Maria a bit better

1. What inspired you to become a therapist: I always wanted a job where I could connect with people and serve my community. My first major was Bioveterinary science, then I switched to Psychology with a goal of applying to med school, but I fell in love with social sciences.

2. Favorite quote or mantra: “Si, se puede,” a phrase coined by Dolores Huerta in response to the unfair treatment of farmworkers in Arizona. It means “yes, we can” in English.

3. What is your favorite way to spend the day off: Sitting outside, probably in a hammock, preferably with an iced coffee and a good book

4. If you could have any superpower, what would it be: Definitely flying. I would love to soar through the sky and see the world from a new perspective.

5. What’s your favorite book and/or movie: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It really spoke to me when I read it, and I re-read it all the time. It’s a bittersweet, layered, complex story, and I love it.

6. What’s your favorite comfort food: Spaghetti, but only the way my mom makes it!

7. If you could travel anywhere, where would it be: Spain, it’s where my dad was born, and I’ve always felt like it holds a piece of my heart.

8. What is something on your bucket list: I want to write a book one day!

9. Guilty Pleasure: I love the Twilight books/movies, and I rewatch them at least once every year...

They’re not personality flaws — they’re survival patterns.
The more you understand them, the more compassion you can bring to your healing and your reactions.
