Day 5
✅Sprained my ankle (doc said it was a “wicked bad sprain” which made me giggle. The boot helps. I can get around with zero pain in it and I’ll be in it for two weeks)
✅Took Rocky the comfort dog for a walk. Also took him to CVS to pick up meds and he tried to make a mad dash. I caught him but not before slamming my thumb in the car door. ✅Sadie the 19 year old cat decided to nap on mom’s lap ✅Made chicken white chili for mom and her buddy Dot who came to visit. ✅finally took a fantastic shower ✅closed the day with a message from mom’s old nurse that there was a brush fire nearby. After obsessing on it, looking at maps and googling “how to evacuate a wheelchair bound person” I called the fire department who assured me it was ok, and put us on a priority list as a disabled household for future risk. They are also investigating a fire safety / evacuation safety training for me to take. And their pro tip is : call 911 if you ever need to evacuate. The Athol fire department is AWESOME! 👏👏 💡today’s lessons: slow down, wear good shoes and, when in doubt, call the pros!
