Former Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant is calling out police in Southlake, Texas, after a confrontation with two drivers ended with him being handcuffed at gunpoint and issued an assault citation. According to Bryant, the incident began Sunday after two drivers allegedly cut him off in traffic. Bryant said he confronted the men in a restaurant parking lot because he wanted them to drive more safely, but the situation quickly escalated into an argument. Bryant claims one of the men threatened to shoot him, although he acknowledged that the man never pulled out a fi***rm. Instead, Bryant said the man pulled out his cellphone to record the confrontation, and Bryant admitted knocking the phone out of his hand. Police were called to the scene after reports of a fight involving a possible weapon. Officers arrived with their fi***rms drawn, ordered the men to the ground and temporarily detained them. Police later confirmed that no fi***rms were recovered. Bryant was issued a citation for assault by contact, a Class C misdemeanor, but was not arrested. He now claims the investigation was one-sided, alleging that officers focused on the other man’s cellphone recording without adequately investigating what led to the confrontation. Bryant also said his two daughters witnessed the incident after arriving with his girlfriend, making the experience especially upsetting. He is demanding a more thorough investigation and wants officers to review any available surveillance footage that could help establish what happened before the confrontation. Bryant is scheduled to appear in Southlake Municipal Court by November 20. The former NFL wide receiver says he wants everyone involved to be treated fairly and is questioning why he was the only person cited

One of our followers just sent us this video, and we have some serious questions. The footage appears to show a man pulled over and going back and forth with an officer before the officer suddenly pulls out his fi***rm and points it directly at the driver. At this point, we have very little context, and honestly, we can’t even tell if this is real or some kind of satire. We’re going to look into it and try to find out exactly what happened. But regardless, pointing a fi***rm at someone during a traffic stop is a serious use of force that deserves answers. What led up to this moment? Was there a legitimate threat, or did this officer take things way too far? We’ll work to get more information. Stay tuned.

A Mississippi police officer has resigned after firing shots into a moving vehicle, resulting in the death of a 1-year-old child. Officer Hunter Foster was pursuing two women suspected of shoplifting from a local Walmart earlier this year when he opened fire on the moving vehicle. The shooting killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley. Senatobia Mayor Greg Graves confirmed Foster’s resignation. A child is dead, and the officer involved in the shooting is no longer on the force. The circumstances surrounding the decision to fire into a moving vehicle, and the accountability that follows, raise serious questions about the use of deadly force by law enforcement.

POLICE EXECUTE MAN HAVING A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS!

Newly released police body camera footage is bringing renewed attention to a fatal LAPD shooting in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Officers responded on September 7 after a family member called 911 about a man reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis. According to police, officers encountered the man carrying a long pole with a serrated blade attached to the end. LAPD claims officers repeatedly ordered him to drop the weapon, but he continued advancing toward them before officers opened fire. The man was struck by gunfire and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No officers or community members were reported injured. Now that the bodycam footage has been released, the public can examine the encounter for themselves and see what the video shows about the moments leading up to the shooting. Whenever police encounters involving a potential mental health crisis end in a death, there are serious questions that deserve answers. What happened during those final moments? Were there opportunities to de-escalate the situation? And does the footage support the officers’ account of what happened? The shooting remains under investigation by LAPD’s Force Investigation Division and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Watch the footage and tell us what you think. A Florida police officer is accused of finding a man dead inside his home and then allegedly taking over the property for himself. Brian Louis Sguros, a 35-year-old officer with the Lauderhill Police Department, reportedly responded to a welfare check in July 2022, where officers discovered Dennis Ionis West had died of natural causes. Investigators now allege Sguros used his position to gain access to the deceased man’s personal information, moved into the home, and began renovating the property. Authorities also allege he used the man’s identity on building permit paperwork and accessed law enforcement databases to look up his information. The case becomes even more disturbing because investigators say West had surviving family members, despite claims that he had no heirs. Sguros allegedly spent more than $200,000 on renovations and later sought reimbursement for the work after the property’s rightful heirs asserted their claims to the home. He has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including official misconduct and the criminal use of identification information. He was reportedly granted a $25,000 bond and placed on unpaid leave. These are allegations, and the case will play out in court, but this raises serious questions about accountability when someone entrusted with a badge is accused of using their position for personal gain. Police officers are given access to people’s homes, private information, and sensitive databases, and that authority should never be used to exploit someone who can no longer speak for themselves.
