Last week LABBN’s Policy and Consortium team presented their poster on "How Home Visiting Supports Immigrant Families in Los Angeles County" at the First 5 California Summit in Anaheim!

The poster shows how home visiting programs connect immigrant families to essential resources, helping them create safety plans and understand their rights. It also highlights how the Consortium helps home visitors promote healthy outcomes and build resilience in children and families.

A full-circle journey! When Irene became a new parent, a Welcome Baby registered nurse helped her navigate breastfeeding challenges during a stressful time. After that, she was able to exclusively breastfeed her baby and later her second child, too.

Years later, Irene joined the Welcome Baby team as a Data Manager for St. Mary Medical Center, helping support the program’s work to connect families with the care, resources, and encouragement they need.

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month!

Meet Claudia, a mom of 6, who breastfed for the first time with her youngest—thanks to the guidance and encouragement she received from the Welcome Baby program at Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital.

With the support of her Parent Coach, Claudia found the confidence and tools she needed, proving it’s never too late to start something new.

Breastfeeding support is just one of the many free services Welcome Baby provides to help families thrive from the very beginning.
