Headstrong co-founder Dr. Darren Burke breaks down one of the biggest misconceptions around creatine:
how much you actually need.

There’s a lot of noise around dosage — loading phases, high scoops, more = better.

In reality, for most athletes:
5 grams a day is enough.
Your body has thresholds.

Once you go past what’s effective, taking more doesn’t mean more benefit — it just means more excess.

And that excess?
It can lead to GI upset — things like:
bloating
stomach discomfort
cramping
