education alone is not enough. 💚

research shows that pairing mental health education with real, human stories is the most effective way to reduce stigma and increase help-seeking behaviors in young people; confirmed across 97 studies involving nearly 44,000 youth. (Crockett et al., 2025, JAMA Network Open)

that’s why Z Talks isn’t a lecture. it’s a conversation.
we use real stories from our Stories of Hope collection, expert clinical guidance, and guided peer discussion to give young people the language and the courage to talk about what they’re going through — for free.

📞 988: call or text, 24/7, free, confidential.

On 988 Day, we ask one thing: save it in your phone. Share it with someone you love. Say it out loud.

You never know whose life that moment could change.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month — and the numbers make it clear why this matters.

Su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10–24. In 2023, 1 in 5 high school students seriously considered it. 40% felt persistently sad or hopeless. (CDC, 2023)

Here is what the data also shows: students who feel connected report lower risk across every single indicator. Connection is not a soft add-on to prevention. It is prevention.

That is the work Z-Cares does, building the conversations and tools that reach young people long before a moment of crisis.

If you know someone who needs it, share this. If you need it yourself, you are not alone.

There’s no one way to take care of yourself.

For Ashmita, it’s sitting by the ocean. For Sruthi, it’s journaling For Aarnav, it’s wrestling. For Noor, it’s running. For Josie, it’s spending time with friends. For Brett, it’s spending time outside with family.

Mental health looks different for everyone. That’s the point.

Nearly half of LGBTQ+ young people who needed mental health support this couldn’t get it.

This Pride Month, we want to honor the experience behind the numbers. LGBTQ+ youth deserve to live a life of happiness and access to care when they need it.

What could change if every LGBTQ+ youth could get the support they needed? 💚
