St. James Parish Hospital is proud to continue its partnership with Lutcher High School by offering FREE walk-in sports physicals for LHS student athletes.

📍 St. James Parish Hospital Therapy Center (inside the Medical Plaza next to the hospital – Urgent Care entrance)
📅 Friday, July 31 | 2 PM – 5 PM
📅 Saturday, August 1 | 8 AM – 11 AM

No appointment needed. Students/parents must complete and bring the required form the day of the physical.

We are proud to recognize three members of our Emergency Department team—Dr. William Freeman, ER Medical Director; Kelli Randazzo, ER Manager; and Leslie Fischer, Clinical Educator—for being among the first healthcare professionals in Louisiana to successfully complete the Obstetric Life Support (OBLS) Course.

This advanced, simulation-based training focuses on the rapid recognition and management of maternal emergencies, including maternal collapse and cardiac arrest. Participants complete intensive online coursework followed by hands-on simulation and assessment exercises featuring realistic emergency scenarios.

At St. James Parish Hospital, we are committed to enhancing our obstetric readiness and ensuring our team is prepared to respond quickly and effectively when obstetric emergencies occur. This achievement reflects our ongoing dedication to patient safety, emergency preparedness, and providing high-quality care for mothers and babies in our community.

Our Swing Bed leadership team recently visited the FMOL Health location in Baton Rouge to highlight the skilled care services available at St. James Parish Hospital.

During the visit, the team shared information about our Swing Bed Program, which helps patients transition from hospitalization to home by providing skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, and personalized support close to home. These conversations help strengthen partnerships and ensure healthcare providers throughout our region are aware of the resources available to their patients.
