The Lynchburg Adult Recovery Court (LARC) and Bedford Family Recovery Court (BFRC) teams recently attended the RISE26 National Recovery Court Conference.

The conference was held in Nashville, Tennessee and was attended by over 8,000 recovery court professionals from all over the country. One of the highest profile speakers was Doug Collins, a U.S. Navy & Airforce veteran and current head of the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Teams consisting of Judges, Project/Program Directors, Law Enforcement, Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Treatment Professionals and Peer Recovery Specialists gathered for 4 days of education and updates in the world of treatment courts.

Our delegation consisted of members of the Lynchburg Circuit Court, the Central Virginia Health District - Lynchburg Health Department, Lynchburg Probation & Parole, and of course, Horizon Behavioral Health Treatment Leads, Case Managers, Therapists and Peers. We returned from the conference ready to meet the substance use and mental health needs of our programs participants here in Central Virginia at every stage of the Justice System. The LARC and BFRC are changing lives and rebuilding families together.

Horizon Behavioral Health's Ride of Our Lives Motorcycle Ride & Rally is back for its fifth year!
