Honored to serve as the guest speaker for the Central North Alabama Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Honors Day program this past Sunday.

My message was simple: Do not let someone else’s expectations define your future.

As a student-athlete, I was told my goals were too hard and unrealistic. I chose not to accept that, and that decision changed everything.

At Elite Sports & Performance Academy, everyday we see progress earned through discipline, persistence, and belief when things get hard.

To every student recognized: this is only the beginning. Stay focused. Keep going.

Yesterday I sat on the AAMU Health Careers Panel Discussion, and it was truly an incredible experience! Sharing space with other women of color and doctors in their fields from a registered dietitian, a medical student who just matched into pediatrics, to a forensic scientist was so powerful. Every single one of us is walking in purpose and committed to pouring back into the next generation to better serve His people.

The conversation flowed so naturally, the questions were thoughtful, and the passion each woman carried was undeniable. Everyone was open hearted, full of energy, and the atmosphere in the room was unmatched. The love in that space was truly top tier. The students were engaged, curious, and unafraid to ask questions; it was so special.

Moments like this matter. We were able to reach, inspire, and spark something in the next generation and that’s what it’s all about.

I had the opportunity to guest lecture for BIO 100: Introduction to Health Careers at Alabama A&M University yesterday on the physical therapy profession, the journey to PT school, and the value of mentorship. A highlight of the session was a live evaluation demonstration with a student volunteer which gave the class a real look at what PT looks like in action. Thankful to inspire future physical therapists to pursue a career dedicated to changing lives.
