World Elder Abuse Awareness Day- The Madison Village recently hosted our local Ombudsman, Vernel Mitchell, to talk about this topic at our All Things Senior speaker series. She spoke about the ombudsman role and "What To Do?" if you suspect elder abuse in your community.

Statewide Adult Abuse Hotline: Call 1-800-458-7214. This centralized line connects directly to Adult Protective Services (APS). It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and allows you to make reports anonymously.

TARCOG Area Agency on Aging: Call 256-830-0818 or toll-free at 1-800-AGE-LINE (1-800-243-5463). TARCOG serves as the aging resource hub for Limestone and Madison counties, providing local case management, defense toolkits, and elder advocacy.

You can also report abuse or exploitation directly to the local county DHR offices where the older adult resides:
