As a third generation, family owned and operated funeral home with four convenient locations, our experienced and caring staff will treat your family with the compassion, dignity and professionalism you deserve in your time of need. Since 1938, it has been our privilege to guide families of all faiths through the process of grieving with neighborly concern and professional care. Through three generations of Ryans; Paul, Connie, and Roman, Ryan & Joyce-Ryan Funeral Home has grown to meet the needs of Dane and its' surrounding counties. In 2000, the Ryan family acquired the Joyce Funeral Home in Verona and on Odana Road in Madison in order to assist our family’s needs on the growing west side of Madison. Joyce, Winifred O'Rourke's father. In 1954, William O'Rourke took the reins. William served the Madison and Verona areas for over 30 years before his passing. In 2006, The Ryan family built a new funeral home in DeForest to better serve the families of Windsor and DeForest. Also, in 2011, Ryan Funeral Home built a new state of the art facilty in Verona to better serve the families in that community. October is a month for remembering, celebrating, and showing up for the people we love.

Welcome to October! October is one of our favorite months. Cooler temps, colorful trees, football, and all things pumpkin.

This month, we honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month and will have some posts surrounding it. We'll also be sharing some of our favorite fall and Halloween traditions. Stay tuned for more.

Happy Fall Y'all! 🍁

Around here, autumn feels like an invitation to slow down. The leaves start to turn, the air gets that crisp edge, and suddenly everyone has a reason to gather: football weekends, apple picking, Sunday dinners that stretch a little longer than usual.

It's also a season that naturally turns our thoughts toward the people we love, both those sitting at the table and those we carry with us in memory.

Grandparents Day was this past weekend, and we couldn't let it pass without a little love for them. 🧡

They make the ordinary feel special. The extra cookie, the stories we'd happily hear again, the way they always seem to have time for us.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and we want to take a moment to talk about something that isn't easy to talk about.

So often, we sit with families on some of the hardest days of their lives. We've seen how deeply a loss touches everyone left behind, and how often people say afterward that they wish they'd known how to help sooner.

The truth is, you don't have to be an expert to make a difference. Sometimes it's as simple as noticing when someone seems off and asking, "Are you okay? Really?" Sometimes it's a text that says, 'I've been thinking about you'. Sometimes it's just staying on the phone a little longer than usual.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the first responders who ran toward danger on 9/11, and hold close every family still carrying someone in their heart. Their stories are not forgotten.
