Update on Scarlett
Scarlett has been doing so well since her surgery. She was able to come home just two days afterward, which was much sooner than we ever expected. She hasn’t slowed down one bit, and we have been so thankful for how smooth her recovery has been. Her incision is healing beautifully, and if it weren’t for the incision, you would never know she had brain surgery. We finally got the call from the oncologist today with her pathology results. The tumor is a desmoplastic infantile ganglioglioma, which is a benign, low grade tumor. This was such an answered prayer. She will have a follow-up MRI in three months to see how much of the tumor remains. From there, they will continue to monitor it with routine follow up scans. It could grow, or it could remain exactly as it is. We simply won’t know until they continue watching it over time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has prayed for Scarlett, checked on our family, sent meals, gifts, cards and shown us so much love during this time. We have felt every prayer and every act of kindness, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Your love and support have meant more to our family than we could ever put into words. ❤️
