A bionic arm that attaches directly to bone, responds to muscle signals, and could restore a sense of touch is moving closer to reality. 🦾

ACS Fellow Jason Ko, MD, MBA, FACS, co-led an investigational surgery to implant the technology in a Chicago-area patient. The electrodes are already recording muscle signals, and rehabilitation and prosthesis training are next.

Northern Maine Medical Center provides Wound Care services focused on evaluating and treating complex, chronic, and non-healing wounds while helping patients protect their health and quality of life. Led by Dr. Ciraulo and Jill Daigle, RN - we are confident this program will meet the needs of our patients and our communities.

We are set to launch on October 27, 2026 and it will be located in the Upper level of MOB at 197 East Main Street.
