The American College of Surgeons is proud to honor Christian P. Larsen, MD, DPhil, FACS, as the recipient of the 2026 Jacobson Innovation Award.

Dr. Larsen is being recognized for pioneering work that transformed organ rejection prevention. His research led to the development of belatacept, the first costimulation blocker medication created specifically for kidney transplant patients, helping improve outcomes for patients who depend on lifesaving transplants.

Today, his work continues through ongoing investigations into how the immune system recognizes transplanted organs and how new approaches may further improve long-term transplant success.

Join us in congratulating Dr. Larsen on this achievement! 🎉

✨ Happy Flag Day! ✨

Today we honor the symbol that unites us—the American flag. It represents the values of freedom, resilience, and hope that continue to shape our nation.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the history it carries and the people who have stood under it with courage and dedication.

May we continue to work toward a future that upholds the ideals it represents for all.
