Our talented Activities Director, Maci Rodrigue, created beautiful paintings for our new facility that celebrate some of the most cherished historic landmarks and gathering places in our community.
Featured in her collection are:
🎨 Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Old Mandeville, Louisiana: a beloved landmark that has been a cornerstone of faith and history for generations.
🎨 Magnolia Baptist Church in Fairview Riverside State Park, Madisonville, Louisiana: built in 1906, this remarkable church is one of the oldest historic Black churches in St. Tammany Parish. It has been at the heart of preservation and restoration efforts and is recognized for its significance in Louisiana's civil rights history. Many may also recognize it from the film Where the Crawdads Sing.
🎨 Donz on the Lake: a historic and beloved Mandeville landmark known for its rustic charm, lakefront views, rich history, and reputation as a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike.
🎨 Ruby's Roadhouse: an iconic Northshore music venue that has entertained generations with live music, good times, and a uniquely laid-back atmosphere that captures the spirit of Mandeville.
We are so proud of Maci's talent and her passion for preserving and honoring the rich history of our community through art. These paintings beautifully capture the places that have shaped our lives, brought people together, and created lasting memories throughout the years.
We hope these special pieces bring back wonderful memories, spark conversations, and remind our residents of the people, places, and moments that make St. Tammany Parish such a special place to call home. ❤️🖌️
