Come join the community this Sunday evening from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 N Penryn Road, Manheim:

As you all know, our community has been hit pretty heavily in the last month. If you have been in conversation in the community then you are also aware of the shock and uncertainty that many are experiencing throughout the community. Between the recent shooting, the sudden medical crisis of the wrestling coach and the ongoing high school investigation, so many of our neighbors, students, and families are hurting and looking for hope.

In times like this, the most powerful thing we can do is slow down and draw near. I hope to never grow weary of saying this, but prayer is a powerful answer and not a passive response. It is also an easy step for anyone to take whether they feel near or far from God. With that said-

This Sunday evening from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, several local churches and other partners in the community are hosting a Unified Community Prayer Night here at MBIC.

This is not designed this to be a highly produced production, but rather a space for intentional, focused prayer around six key areas: healing for victims, physical healing for coach Enu, for unity, wisdom and guidance in the investigation, wisdom for school leadership, and safety for our students this summer. - Pastor Bryce Taylor

When you visit a loved one at a green burial site, you aren’t just visiting a cemetery. Families find comfort in the specific features of the land: the rustle of leaves in the trees, the bloom of seasonal wildflowers, or the quiet presence of local wildlife. It is a place where memories and nature come together beautifully, offering a peaceful space for healing and quiet conversation.

Traditional burials in the U.S. use millions of tons of concrete, steel, and hardwood every year. Choosing a green burial is a powerful way to leave a positive legacy. Instead of a vault that separates the body from the earth, our natural burial process allows for a complete "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" return to the soil. Your final act becomes one of conservation, helping to restore and preserve local ecosystems like meadows and forests for generations to come.

One of the most frequent questions we receive is about the necessity of embalming. At Simple Funerals, we honor the natural process. Central to our philosophy is the preparation of the deceased without the use of harsh, toxic chemicals.

This eco-friendly approach is not only safer for the environment and funeral home workers, but it also respects the body’s natural return to the earth. We offer private family viewings using basic cooling methods, ensuring your loved one is treated with the highest level of respect and dignity.

At Simple Funerals, we believe that a funeral should be about how much you care, not how much it costs. Many families are moving away from the elaborate traditions of the past and returning to the quiet dignity of a "simple pine box" and a private graveside gathering.

By stripping away the unnecessary - the chemicals, the heavy metals, and the complex logistics - we make room for what truly matters: a meaningful moment of goodbye that honors your loved one’s values without the burden of traditional high costs.

At Simple Funerals, we believe that the "place to visit" should offer a sense of presence. In a green burial ground, the traditional atmosphere is replaced by the peaceful rhythm of a woodland preserve or a sunlit meadow. Families find a deeper, more personal connection to the land itself, finding comfort in the specific features of nature that mark their loved one's resting place.

Visiting becomes an immersive, healing experience. Whether it is the sound of birds in the canopy or the seasonal bloom of wildflowers, the landscape provides a living sanctuary for quiet reflection and conversation. It is a place where the cycle of life is visible and beautiful, offering a unique space for peace and renewal.
