Strength can often come from the struggle and continuing to hold emotion, lift the heavy, and sit with the burden while doing the things that continue to move you forward. Life will continue to put obstacles in your path; it’s what you choose to do with them and how you continue to show up with consistency that matter. Keep moving forward, check the emotional backpack a few times to see what you are carrying around, edit as you see fit, and continue to put one foot in front of the other.

It’s ok to carry the load for other important people when it matters and makes sense to your value system. AND its also ok to let others help to carry you through when you need it. Balance occurs when we let both happen and they align with your value system. If you are a caregiver, this means that the balance can be off...we can help with that. We understand what that means, how it affects you, and can be part to the support system that evens out the load you carry.

You have a say in the weight you carry, not in what happened to you, but what you choose to bring into today. Comfort is light but heavy down the road, discipline is heavy but lighter down the road. The weight shifts, but the weight of not picking up what will move you forward will be infinitely heavier in the form of regret later. Choose wisely, pick up the weight that will build you and let go of the avoidance and comfort that keep you from the life you want.

It can be super easy to get wrapped up in perfection, completion of an end-goal, or waiting for motivation to drop before we get to a task, move through an effort, or just plain start. Consistency doesn’t care about perfection…small efforts compounded over time are the real winning elements. Being human means we are not able to give over 100% or show up in the same way every day for a variety of reasons. Just as its important not to override all your systems for safety, it’s also important to do the things each day that allow you to move forward. That’s giving attention to mental, physical, and emotional health, even if its only for 5 minutes. Where will you make a start today...and where will you show up for you?

Next week!!

We are 1 week away from our Midlife Mental Health Workshop with Jennifer Kalista of Neuro-Roots LLC.

Midlife can bring a lot at once — hormonal changes, sleep disruption, stress, caregiving, work and relationship shifts, body changes, and the mental load of everyday life.

If you have been feeling more overwhelmed, irritable, anxious, less patient, or just not quite like yourself, you are not alone.

Jennifer will help make these symptoms make sense and offer practical tools for navigating this season with more understanding and support.

Yesterday we participated in MPSD Mental Health & Wellness Community Walk & Resource Fair. Sometimes just being around others with a caring mindset and good intentions is enough to fuel you for a long time…it’s what keeps us coming back to the helper role, wanting what is best for our community, and seeing small changes in real time. Keep going Manitowoc and MPSD!

Motivation is not the same for all brains...it’s impacted by your neurotype, really challenging if ADHD or autism is present, and can appear in different ways if there is trauma. That doesn’t mean that each day will look the same…sometimes showing up means doing it anyway and knowing you won’t hit 100%.

Keep picking up something heavy…even if is less than last week and you are not even close to a PR.

Keep moving…even if it’s slower or the time spent is shorter.

Keep writing thoughts down…even if they don’t make sense and you feel really stuck.

Keep going…because going isn’t ever being perfect, it’s just forward motion.
