Just when you have a bedtime schedule figured out 😩
Daylight Savings Time can disrupt your baby’s sleep schedule, but we have some tips to help ease the transition.

1️⃣ Put your child to bed 15 minutes later than usual. Start tonight! This will gradually shift their sleep schedule and help them sleep in later the next morning.

2️⃣ Make your kiddo’s room extra dark in the morning. Having a dark room will help your child feel like it’s time to sleep, even when it’s light outside.

3️⃣ Have a solid nighttime routine. A set schedule help your child unwind and fall asleep faster. We recommend turning off electronics at least an hour before bed, followed by a calming bath, reading a book, and listening to peaceful music.

It can take time for the family to adjust. Stay consist and hang in there!

Is it safe to get a flu shot when pregnant? YES!

Getting vaccinated while pregnant also can help protect a baby from influenza after birth, because antibodies are passed to a developing baby during pregnancy.

When you get an influenza vaccine while pregnant or breastfeeding, your body develops antibodies against influenza that are shared with your baby through breast milk. Your body is amazing!

Protect yourself by getting a flu shot from your OBGYN and making an appointment for your family at a UVP flu shot clinic today.

It's that time of year 🤧 😅

Flu is already here and we are seeing lots of H1N1 cases so far. H1N1 is a influenza A subtype and more serious for children.

Remember, influenza is more than a common cold. It’s a serious virus that can cause urgent complications like pneumonia, sepsis, brain swelling and other life-threatening problems. The risks can be decreased significantly by a flu shot.

Protect your little ones and yourself by making an appointment at a UVP flu shot clinic today.

How much should my newborn sleep? 💤 Healthy newborns sleep 14-17 hours each day. That's a lot of sleep! But it isn't always consecutive. Check out this guide for an idea of what to expect from your newborn.

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the best ways to protect your infant while encouraging healthy sleep habits.

💙Always place your baby on their back for every nap and nighttime sleep.

💙Use a firm, flat crib, or bassinet with a fitted sheet.

💙Keep blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and crib bumpers out of the sleep space.

💙Keep nighttime feedings calm and quiet while exposing your baby to natural light during the day.

💙Follow your pediatrician’s recommendations about nighttime feedings.

Whenever you have questions about your baby’s sleep, feeding, or development, Utah Valley Pediatrics is here with trusted guidance, reassurance, and expert care at every step.
