June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the struggles that too many men carry in silence. For Veterans and first responders, years of putting duty first, staying strong for others, and pushing through difficult experiences can make it feel nearly impossible to ask for help when it’s needed most.

In our newly released After the Watch podcast, host Matt VanLiere joins Sanford CEO Tracy Rogers and Clinical Director Tessa Sterling for an honest conversation about the stigma surrounding mental health, trauma, and vulnerability in these communities. Their message is simple but powerful: seeking support is not weakness, and it does not have to cost you your career, your purpose, or your identity.

That belief is at the heart of JOHN (Just One Hero Needed), Sanford Behavioral Health’s treatment program created exclusively for Veterans and Ffirst Rresponders. Here, individuals are surrounded by people who understand the culture, the sacrifices, and the weight that can come with carrying so much for so long.
