For almost 20 years, my focus was helping patients look younger through facial cosmetic surgery.

I still love what I do.

But a few years ago, I found myself asking a question that completely changed the direction of my career.

Why are we so good at treating what aging looks like… but spend so little time understanding why we’re aging in the first place?

That question sent me down a rabbit hole of aging biology, cellular health, and longevity science.

What started as curiosity became an obsession.

Not because I wanted to leave cosmetic surgery.

But because I wanted to become a better surgeon.

The deeper I went into the science, the more I realized something that now seems obvious:

Looking younger and aging better are not the same thing.

That realization became the foundation for everything I teach today and ultimately, the inspiration behind my upcoming book, The Anti-Aging Paradox.

This is the first video in a series where I’ll share the journey that changed the way I think about medicine, aging, and health.

In the next video, I’ll show you the first scientific study that completely changed my perspective on aging.

👇 I’d love to know…

When you think of “anti-aging,” what comes to mind first?

We offer photo-bio-modulation therapy, for both preoperative and postoperative patient care. ELIXIR MD™ Detox Therapy prepares the skin for surgery by fostering ideal healing conditions and promoting superior outcomes, while ELIXIR Cellular Repair™ optimizes healing by penetrating various skin layers, promoting cellular repair, and reducing redness and swelling.

🚨 This is exactly how pseudoscience is born.

Someone reads a scientific paper… misunderstands it… and then presents their interpretation as if it’s settled fact.

In this video, we’re told:
❌ “Less protein is healthier.”
❌ “Americans eat twice as much protein as they should.”
❌ “Middle-aged adults should eat a low-protein diet.”

The problem?

The very study being cited doesn’t support those conclusions.

The 2024 Harvard/Tufts Nurses’ Health Study found that higher protein intake was associated with healthier aging, with the strongest association seen for plant protein. It did not conclude that middle-aged adults should deliberately eat less protein. In fact, in the authors’ fully adjusted analysis, animal protein was also associated with healthier aging—the association was simply smaller than for plant protein.

The second paper frequently quoted is a review of largely animal and mechanistic research. It explores interesting biological pathways, but it does not prove that restricting protein extends human lifespan.

This is why reading a headline is not the same as reading the paper.

Science is nuanced.

Mechanisms are not clinical outcomes.

Animal studies are not randomized human trials.

And the RDA is not the optimal intake, it’s the minimum amount needed to prevent deficiency.

The goal shouldn’t be to find studies that support what we already believe.

The goal should be to let the evidence change our beliefs.

That’s the difference between science and scientism.

TIME FOR SCHOOL: EBOO EDITION 🧪

EBOO is being marketed by some longevity clinics as a way to “clean the blood,” reduce inflammation, improve mitochondria, detoxify the body, and slow aging.

But here’s the problem:

A biologically active treatment is not automatically an effective treatment.

Yes, ozone creates oxidative stress and may activate certain antioxidant and inflammatory pathways. That is scientifically interesting.

But changing a pathway is not the same as proving that people live longer, age more slowly, or avoid disease.

Think of it this way: flipping switches in an airplane cockpit may make the gauges move, but that does not prove the plane is flying safely or heading in the right direction.

The actual human evidence for EBOO is extremely limited. There are no high-quality clinical trials showing that it slows biological aging, extends lifespan, improves healthspan, prevents chronic disease, or “rejuvenates” mitochondria.

And terms like “detoxifies the blood” sound scientific, but they raise basic questions:

Which toxin was removed?
How much was removed?
Was it measured before and after?
Did removing it improve a meaningful health outcome?

Without those answers, “detoxification” is a marketing claim—not a scientific conclusion.

EBOO may deserve further research. But until rigorous human trials show meaningful benefit and acceptable safety, it should be considered experimental, not an established longevity treatment.

That is the difference between science and pseudoscience:

Science says, “Here is the hypothesis. Let’s test it.”

Pseudoscience says, “Here is a plausible mechanism. Therefore, it works.

Photobiomodulation is a cutting-edge therapy I use as part of the Longevity Facelift recovery process. It helps reduce swelling and bruising, accelerates healing, and supports a smoother, faster recovery experience.

Many cosmetic procedures are performed without a true aesthetic indication. As a result, many patients end up looking overly operated rather than naturally refreshed.

Looking "done" is not a compliment—it often represents a failure of proper surgical judgment and facial harmony.

Be cautious of trends. Trends come and go, but the results of many cosmetic procedures are permanent or difficult to reverse. The best outcomes are timeless, natural, and tailored to the individual rather than driven by what is currently fashionable.

A successful rhinoplasty depends on structural support as much as aesthetics.

Septal cartilage is carefully harvested and shaped into a graft to support the nasal tip, maintain long-term stability, and provide precise control of tip projection and rotation.

Every structural decision plays a vital role in restoring support while creating a balanced, natural-looking result.
