Today’s regular Friday Cocktail party featured live music by the talented Joel, whose sing-along tunes had everyone smiling and swaying…. and even blushing as he charmed the ladies with his compliments!

Keeping with the Grill + Chill lunch, we featured bagged Dorito’s and coke, lemonade and ice tea for our cocktail hour snacks.

GASTRONAUTS are our monthly foodie event where we feature a food and function together. Today featured GRILLIN + CHILIN’, a grilled classic lunch, complete with BBQ checkerboard look.
Wonderful food line up of special grilled shrimp or chicken pineapple kabobs, traditional grilled dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings, baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad and ending with ice cream!
Several guests commented on the delight evident on our resident faces! These American classics delighted the taste buds, and smiles were everywhere as everyone enjoyed the delicious food and great company.

Weekly Bus Trip took place today. We took a small group of residents out to see nearby Moreland Manor at Lakeland College.

Moreland Manor is an impressive site. We got out and took a photo on the iconic grand entry patio. we then went around back and saw they were setting up for a wedding, so it was a extra treat.

Moreland Manor is a historic turn-of-the-century mansion, originally built as a summer home for the Moore family of Cleveland, Ohio. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Mooreland was renovated and opened in 1998 as a conference center managed by the college.

DONATED TREATS, 2026 Making Memories .05K Silly Races

Today we hosted our .05 SILLY RACES, Thursday June 11th. These ‘races’ have the goal is to be SILLY and FUN…. And unhealthy – with soda and snacks that aren’t going to shorten the waistline. THE SNACKS WERE ALL DONATED by our Hospice Partners. Here’s some shots of just enjoying the snack program today. Everyone enjoyed their donut and soda and goodie bags!

2026 Making Memories .05K Silly Races!

Today is our .05 SILLY RACES, Thursday June 11th. This is our monthly Making Memories Symphony signature event and part of the Elegance brand that truly sets us apart from other residence communities.

These ‘races’ have the goal is to be SILLY and FUN…. And unhealthy – with soda and snacks that aren’t going to shorten the waistline. The events promote activity and movement and social engagement -- two of the eight Elegance’ dimensions of engagement.

We had planned to be outside for some events but it was storming outside. That didn’t dampen the spirits inside as we gamed-on and competed! Our Hula Hoops fell flat, but the felt-ball-toss and Human Basketball went over great. Everyone enjoyed their donut and soda and goodie bags!

Today is our .05 Races. We'd like to acknowledge our hospice partners for donated Snacks and Unhealthy Treats. We are able to provide donuts, soda and treat-goodie bags/care items provided by these Hospice Providers. Wednesdays feature our in-house baker, Beth, who hosts a weekly baking event. This activity is more than just a treat at the end—it also serves as Elegance’ occupational dimensions of engagement, as participants stir, mix, and engage with the ingredients throughout the process. Today, we baked LEMON BLUEBERRY COOKIES. We always milk and cookies the old fashioned while, while benefitting from the physical dexterity gained along the way.

ZUMBA GOLD Chair Yoga today with the irrepressible Lashaunda.
She brought energy, encouragement, spiritual music and fun added to stretching exercises. Her Zumba class provided a social experience while promoting our occupational dimension, one of Elegance’s daily elements of resident health. Participants of varying abilities, including those with limited movement range, were still able to engage successfully by using gross motor movements and stretching the arm muscles. The activity was enjoyable, eliciting laughter and encouraging group interaction.
