Diana delivers Chair Yoga once a month, inspiring light movement and stretches with a spiritual and affirming background music.

Yoga has been a cornerstone of holistic health for centuries. She highlights several key benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep, pain management (Diana encourages movement while advising to do only what is comfortabl, and overall holistic wellness. This monthly program also supports Elegance’ occupational dimensions of engagement.

We truly enjoy our monthly yoga session and learning about its many uses and benefits.

Weekly Bus Trip took place today. We took a small group of residents out to see the rain-effects on the local Garfield park with the geese and ducks as company. Everyone enjoys seeing the beautiful pond an scenery and getting outside for a bit.

WEDNESDAY BAKING WITH BETHANY feature our in-house baker, Beth, who hosts a weekly baking event. This activity is more than just a treat at the end—it also serves as Elegance’ occupational dimensions of engagement, as participants stir, mix, and engage with the ingredients throughout the process.

Today, we focused on decorating a Patriotic cup cake for upcoming labor day. Residents had fun with frosting and shaking confections on their treats. We enjoyed socializing over the sweet treats, and the entire baking experience, while benefitting from the physical dexterity gained along the way.

Presentation of Pearl's Memory Babies to a resident. She immediately decided his name was Antonio. Precious moments indeed.

These babies and dogs support dementia residents evoking nurturing instincts and cherished memories. Families, please consider donating to support the nonprofit Pearl's Memory Babies with a contribution on their webpage, or to us and we’ll forward it to them.

FLYNN the Therapy Dog, our Furry Friend Flynn visits every Wednesday, and both he and we are so glad to see each other!

He loves on everyone, and then got his treat. Flynn enjoyed some balloon chase time, and ended with a ball to throw around later. He needs no incentive to share his love, but it sure is more fun!

Thanks to owner Kathryn for the dedication to visiting weekly.
