What a fantastic way to wrap up National Nurse’s Week! Merrillville Care Center’s Jemai Kennedy and Nicole Hluska threw an awesome luncheon at Methodist Southlake for the Nursing Case Management team. Portillo’s brought the flavor with world-famous beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, chopped salad, and that famously fudgy chocolate cake! Brickyard Healthcare backs our community heroes, and we made sure they knew it. Thanks for all you do! Methodist Hospitals

Brickyard welcomes our newest Administrator in Training, Lanikka Julian at Merrillville. Lanikka brings 19 years of long term care experience ranging from floor nurse, wound care nurse, restorative , and MDS Coordinator. Lanikka shares that her experience has taught her how much leadership truly impacts outcomes. Her goal of becoming an administrator is driven by the determination of advocating for both a team and residents, driving, creating, and helping cultivate a supportive and efficient environment. For fun, Lanikka loves to read, she read 165 books last year! She enjoys going to Cubs games with her husband, and snuggling with her corgi. We look forward to Lanikka's journey with Brickyard in becoming a future leader of the industry committing to Brickyard's excellence.

The Easter Bunny hopped by Brickyard Merrillville to spread some springtime cheer! Our Recreation Department hosted a joyful community Easter Egg Hunt for residents, staff, and families, even a little rain couldn’t dampen our spirits. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and made this day so special!
