Blue Cactus ABA is a small but mighty clinic in Mesa, Arizona rooted in high quality data, compassion, and fun. Welcome to our page!

We provide evidence-based ABA for children with Autism ages 18 months–18 years in home and in clinic.

😎Meet our super cool RBT, Ashton!

🌱Ashton has been an amazing part of the BCA team since May of this year and has been in the field for 2 years now. Her favorite thing about ABA is making children feel seen and turning overwhelming tasks into something that is engaging and achievable.

🤸🏽📊She loves working at Blue Cactus specifically because she feels it is the perfect blend of “compassion, fun, and clinical excellence.”

🗣️Ashton plans on finishing up her Bachelor’s Degree at Utah State for Speech and Hearing Science and becoming a SLP.

💃🏻When Ashton isn’t teaching kiddos, you can find her swimming, country dancing, or eating good food.

💪🏽Tasha and Bailey are working hard to finish strong with their supervision hours and ABA Master’s Programs!

🩷Tasha has almost completed her supervision hours and will be done with her program this December,🎓🎉Go Tashaaaaaa!!!

💚 Bailey is projected to complete her supervision hours in February/March and will graduate next May! Almost there!

📈After getting their degrees, the next step is taking the BIG EXAM ! We are so excited for two of our BCA employees to be moving up in their ABA careers toward becoming BCBAs!

🤝Meet our super fun RBT, Morgan! Morgan has been with us for a few months now and we have loved having her on our team!

💪Morgan has been in the ABA field since early 2024 and loves ABA because she can teach kiddos how to self-advocate for themselves and find coping skills in a way that feels like play. She enjoys working at Blue Cactus for the warm and friendly environment and notes that her coworkers are deeply caring.

🎓Morgan hopes to one day get her Masters Degree and become a BCBA!

🎮📚🪴When she is not teaching new skills and coping strategies, she loves to read, write, and play cozy video games. You can also catch her tending to her garden!

Meet our lovely RBT, Kat! Kat has been working with us since this July and has been an amazing addition to our team.

🎉Kat’s favorite part of ABA is celebrating little wins every day and knowing she’s making a positive difference in the kiddos’ lives. Her favorite thing about working at Blue Cactus is being able to bond with kiddos and getting to know her coworkers that make her excited to come to work.

🎮When she is not teaching new skills and getting to know kiddos, she loves playing Minecraft, Pokémon, and other video games.

🌵At BCA, we teach new skills through several strategies. One of them being errorless teaching. Errorless teaching is when we give learners the answer right away, so they can practice engaging in the correct response right off the bat. There are a few reasons we use this teaching...

📉 Less Failure & More Rewards: This approach alters instructional practices so learning results in less failure (that often leads to frustration) and far more frequent reinforcement (or rewards).

🤝 Demand = Opportunity: Removing the frustration improves the teaching situation to the point where it stops functioning as a stressful demand and becomes a positive opportunity for the learner.

🛑 Less Escape Behaviors: Errors actually increase the urge to escape. Reducing errors functions can lower the value of task avoidance and significantly decrease escape-motivated behaviors.
