Thirty years at the same company. A classroom. A route. A shop opened before sunrise.

The job is rarely the most important thing about a person. But it is often how a family describes them, because it is where the showing up happened.

This Labor Day we are thinking about the working lives behind the names, including the ones we have been honored to remember here in Mesa.

Since 1951, Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery has had the privilege of serving families throughout the East Valley.

Generations have come and gone. Our commitment has stayed the same. We care for every family with compassion, dignity, and respect.

✨ A little piece of today, saved for the future! ✨

As part of Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery’s 75th Anniversary celebration, we’re creating a special time capsule filled with memories and meaningful items from our team.

Ashleigh and Irie are adding their photo to the collection—one small memory that will help tell the story of who we are today. 💙

We plan to open our time capsule every five years, giving us a chance to look back, remember the people and moments that shaped us, and see how much has changed along the way.

Here’s to celebrating 75 years of memories, people, and service—and preserving a little piece of our history for the years ahead. 🕰️✨

Bring your dog. Bring your cat. Bring the bird, the rabbit, the horse if you can get it here.

Our Annual Pet Blessing is Friday, October 16 at 9:00 AM at 7900 E Main Street in Mesa.

Pets give us something steady. They sit with us on hard days and they ask for very little in return. This morning is about honoring that.

All pets are welcome. Please keep yours on a leash or secured in a crate so everyone stays comfortable.

There will be light snacks and refreshments, and plenty of other animal lovers to talk to.

Bring your family. Invite a friend. We will see you at nine.

Direct cremation means your loved one is cremated without a viewing or funeral service beforehand. That is the whole difference.

There is no embalming and no chapel use, which makes it a simpler and more affordable path for many Mesa families.

It does not close the door on a memorial. Many families choose direct cremation first, then gather when everyone can travel.

Cremation does not close the door on a meaningful service.

Families can still hold a viewing, a visitation, a funeral or a celebration of life, either before or after cremation. Cremated remains can be given a permanent place of remembrance in a cemetery, a mausoleum niche or a memorial garden.

According to the Cremation Association of North America, the U.S. cremation rate reached roughly 62.8 percent in 2025 and is projected to reach 69.1 percent by 2030.
