💙 Building Skills Beyond the Therapy Room 🧩
At Mestre Behavior, learning doesn’t stop at the center.
Community-based sessions allow our clients to practice important skills during real-life routines, while caregivers and therapists work together to support progress and independence.
During this community session, skills included:
🛗 Elevator routines — waiting for the elevator, selecting the appropriate floor, and safely entering and exiting
👩‍👦 Walking alongside a caregiver — staying near Mom while navigating the community
🚗 Car routines — transitioning to and from the vehicle
🚶 Community safety — practicing safe movement through different environments
🔄 Transitions — moving from one location or activity to the next
✨ Independence — increasing participation in everyday routines
Caregiver involvement gives families the opportunity to practice these skills alongside the therapy team and helps promote consistency across everyday environments.
Because the goal isn’t just learning a skill — it’s being able to use it in everyday life. 💙
