Today marks the anniversary of the passing of my personal mentor—and for so many others in our profession—Dr. Michael U. Kale, who left this earth on July 2, 2001.
I can still remember getting that dreaded phone call. I can also remember the very first patient I scanned and adjusted after hearing the news as if it were yesterday.
For a selfish moment, I remember feeling completely alone and scared. I thot, I’m not done learning from you. I wasn’t ready. I needed more.
It’s hard to believe it has been that long. Some days it feels like a different world.
Dr. Kale, I hope we’ve made you proud. We have continued the work, taught the principles, served our patients, and carried forward the passion you instilled in so many of us.
Thank you for being such a monumental part of my life. Without your strength, courage, wisdom, and guidance, I truly believe I would have been lost in the jungle.
Your influence continues to live on—not only through those you taught, but through every patient whose life has been changed because of your dedication to Chiropractic.
You are deeply missed, but your legacy lives on every single day.
