The Ohio Occupational Therapy Association is a voluntary professional organization of occupational therapy practitioners who are dedicated to supporting the profession through advocacy and communication. The Board of Trustees meets multiple times per year and welcomes input from its members. Membership services are of primary importance to the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association. In addition to

the informational, support and networking opportunities, the continuing education of members is necessary to maintain standards in quality of service delivery. Membership recruitment, development and retention are essential to meet Ohio’s present and future needs for Occupational Therapy.

🚨 Advocacy Update: Help End the Multiple Procedure Payment Reduction (MPPR)

Why does this matter? MPPR reduces payment for therapy services when multiple procedures are provided during the same visit, despite the clinical value and necessity of comprehensive care.

Repealing MPPR would not only support fair reimbursement for occupational therapy services under Medicare, but could also influence state Medicaid programs and commercial insurers that often follow Medicare payment policies.

Now is the time to make our voices heard! Grassroots advocacy will be critical to advancing this legislation and ensuring policymakers understand the value of occupational therapy.

This course will describe AI tools commonly used in OT settings, ethical issues surrounding the use of AI in OT practice, and discuss next steps and best practices when using AI. Active participation in breakout room discussion is required for course credit.

Last week, members of OOTA were invited to testify before the Ohio House Medicaid Committee to highlight the vital role of OT within Medicaid programs and the impact OT practitioners have across the lifespan. ⚕️💜

We are grateful to OOTA President Christie Tuttle; OOTA member Erika Eustaquio; and Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board member Nichole Dearth for representing our profession and sharing the value of occupational therapy with state leaders.
