“She’s so strong.”

It’s one of the most common things we hear from parents of babies who are actually carrying significant tension.

Strength and tension can look very similar in infants.

This little one hated tummy time, arched constantly, preferred looking one direction, and lived in extension. Everyone saw a strong, alert baby.

What we saw was a nervous system that was working overtime.

After a period of chiropractic care and simple homework for the family, tummy time became enjoyable, movement became more symmetrical, rolling developed naturally, and even sleep and digestion improved.

Sometimes the goal isn’t teaching a baby a milestone.

Sometimes it’s removing the barriers that make development harder than it needs to be.

Have questions about your baby’s movement patterns? Send us a message. We’d love to help. 🫶🏼

When people hear “regulated child,” they often picture a child who is always calm, always cooperative, and never melts down.

But that’s not regulation.

A regulated child still gets frustrated. They still cry. They still have hard days.

Regulation is about adaptability.

It’s the ability to recover after disappointment. To move through big emotions instead of getting stuck in them.To transition between activities with less stress. To sleep, eat, play, learn, and connect with greater ease.

This is why we spend so much time talking about the nervous system in our office.

A child’s ability to regulate isn’t just about behavior. It’s connected to how their nervous system processes, responds to, and recovers from the world around them.

Chiropractic care doesn’t eliminate emotions or difficult days. What it can do is support healthy nervous system function so the body is better able to adapt, recover, and develop the way it was designed to.

✨ The goal isn’t a perfectly behaved child.

The goal is a resilient one.

Have you noticed changes in your child’s sleep, transitions, emotions, or adaptability since starting care?

Tell me your child goes to the chiropractor without telling me your child goes to the chiropractor... 😂

Somewhere along the way, your 18-month-old points the clicker at their own back and asks for more.

Your child asks for “pressy face” before bed.

They insist we check their ears for stickers, unicorns, dump trucks, or whatever treasure they think might be hiding in there that day.

They don’t want to get on the table... but once they’re on it, they don’t want to leave.

And somehow every stuffed animal, superhero, baby doll, and sibling has been adjusted at least once this week.

One of our favorite things about caring for kids is seeing chiropractic become so normal to them. Not because they’re in pain. Not because something is wrong. But because caring for their body is simply part of life.

And if you’ve ever watched your child line up their toys for adjustments in the living room, you know exactly what I’m talking about. ❤️

What’s something your child does that instantly tells people they’re a chiropractic kid?

❌ MYTH: “They’ll grow out of it.”

✅ TRUTH: Development is built one skill at a time.

A baby who struggles with tummy time may eventually sit.A child who skips crawling may eventually walk.A toddler who struggles with balance may eventually run.

The question isn’t always if they reach the milestone.

It’s how they got there.

The body is incredibly adaptable and will often find ways to compensate when a foundation is missing.

That doesn’t mean something is wrong. It doesn’t mean you should panic.

It simply means it’s worth paying attention.

At Renew, we believe development is about more than checking milestones off a list. It’s about supporting the foundation that helps children move, learn, regulate, and thrive.

✨ The goal isn’t fear. The goal is awareness.

👇 Have questions about your child’s development? Give us a call! We’re always happy to help you understand what’s typical, what’s worth watching, and when extra support may be beneficial.

When most parents think about development, they think about the big milestones:

✔️ Rolling
✔️ Sitting
✔️ Crawling
✔️ Walking

And while those milestones absolutely matter, they’re only part of the story.

Healthy development also looks like:

✨ A baby who can settle after being upset
✨ More restful sleep and smoother transitions between sleep cycles
✨ Coordinated feeding and swallowing
✨ Comfortable digestion and regular bowel movements
✨ Eye contact, connection, and engagement with caregivers
✨ The ability to adapt to new environments, sensations, and experiences

These are all signs that the nervous system is growing, organizing, and developing the way it was designed to.

Sometimes parents become worried because a milestone hasn’t happened yet.

Other times, a child hits every milestone “on time” but struggles with regulation, sleep, feeding, or sensory challenges.

Development isn’t just about what a child can do.

It’s also about how their nervous system functions.

At Renew, we love celebrating the first rolls, first steps, and first words—but we also celebrate the quieter wins that often lay the foundation for those bigger milestones.

Because healthy development starts long before the milestone chart.

💛What was one thing about your baby’s development that nobody prepared you for?

Some excuses we hear every summer:

Routines disappear.
Schedules change.
Kids are home.
Travel increases.
Stress increases.
Consistency decreases.

And many people slowly stop supporting themselves while trying to keep everything else running.

Until the headaches come back.
The tension returns.
Sleep gets worse.
The nervous system gets overloaded again.
The body starts compensating again.

The reality is this:
Yes some seasons are busier… but your nervous system does not stop needing support just because life gets busy.

In fact, those seasons are usually when support matters the most.

The patients who tend to see the biggest changes are not the ones who only come in when things fall apart.

They are the ones who stay consistent enough to help their body STOP living in constant recovery mode. 🙌🏼

If you’ve fallen out of rhythm this summer already, let this be your reminder to reconnect with yourself too.

One of the most misunderstood things about the human body is this:

Adaptation does not always equal wellness.

Humans are incredibly good at surviving.

You can adapt to chronic stress.
Adapt to poor sleep.
Adapt to tension.
Adapt to overstimulation.
Adapt to dysfunction.
Adapt to living in a constant state of bracing.

Until one day the body starts asking for attention in louder ways.

Many people do not realize how much their nervous system has been compensating until they finally experience what support, regulation, and safety actually feel like again.

Just because your body carried it well does not mean it was not carrying too much.

If this resonated with you, this is your reminder that you do not have to wait until your body completely burns out before seeking support.

We post our doctors daily availability in stories for those looking to begin care or continue supporting their nervous system intentionally through this season.

Time and time again, we meet women in their late third trimester who tell us the same thing:

“I wish I would’ve started sooner.”

Many were struggling from the beginning.Pelvic pain. Round ligament pain. Headaches. Sciatica. Rib pain. Sleep issues. Constant tension. Difficulty moving.

But they waited until things became unbearable because somewhere along the way they were taught that discomfort in pregnancy is just something to survive.

Or worse, they were taught to fear chiropractic care more than they fear remaining inflamed, tense, compensating, stressed, and disconnected from their body for 40+ weeks.

That should concern people more.

Especially in a world where many pregnant women are more quickly offered medications, dismissed with “that’s normal,” or told to simply push through… before they are educated on conservative, nervous system-focused care that has been studied, practiced, and safely utilized for generations.

If you’re new here:Prenatal chiropractic care is not about “cracking pregnant women.”

It’s about supporting the way the brain and body communicate during one of the biggest physical and neurological transformations a human can experience.

It is about adaptability.Pelvic balance.Movement.Regulation.Function.Connection.

And no, you do not need to wait until your body is screaming to deserve support.

We’ll keep saying it until we’re blue in the face because too many women have been taught to disconnect from their body instead of support it.

As RENEW Chiropractic continues to grow and evolve, so does the way we support healing within the office.

In 2026, we officially began offering chiropractic enhancers. These are services designed to complement and support the effects of your chiropractic adjustments by helping the body regulate, recover, release tension patterns, and function more efficiently overall.

Our current enhancers include:
• Dry Needling• Focused Muscle Release• Cranial Unwinding• Dynamic Body Balancing• Red Light Therapy

These enhancers are available to established chiropractic patients currently under care within our office.

Because many of these services require additional time within the schedule, they may not always be able to be added onto a standard adjustment appointment at the time of your visit. Scheduling these in advance is in your best interest. However, we now post daily doctor availability to our story, not only for adjustments, but for enhancers as well so if you see an opening posted that interests you, you are always welcome to claim it.

Focused Red Light Therapy is the only enhancer currently available to be added onto any adjustment appointment, even at time of visit.

Every nervous system and every body is different, which means not every enhancer is for every patient and that’s okay. Part of our job is helping guide you toward the support your body may benefit from most during different seasons of healing, stress, recovery, pregnancy, postpartum, growth, or regulation.

If you’ve been curious about any of these services, this post is a great place to start! 🤍
