This week, members of our Culinary and Maintenance teams attended 2 Oregon Health Care Association events to learn, explore new ideas, and bring back fresh inspiration. From innovative products to practical solutions, every opportunity to grow helps us better serve our residents and communities.

We believe investing in our people is one of the most important investments we can make. We're excited to see these new ideas come to life in the months ahead.

Come with us as we spruce up the barn....

Our back office team traded desks for dirt and joined us “in the wild” this week to help spruce up our beautiful 100-year-old barn and attched garden space! 🌿🪵

Together we raked, weeded, swept, cleaned, hauled, and brought a whole lot of teamwork and laughter along the way. There’s something special about rolling up your sleeves together — especially in a space with so much history and character.

The ducks were flying at our Campus Duck Derby! 🦆💨

Residents gathered together for laughs, friendly competition, and cheering on their favorite speedy little racers. There may have been a few dramatic finishes, some highly questionable duck “training methods,” and at least one duck that clearly had its own agenda. 😂

Days like this remind us that joy doesn’t have an age limit. Sunshine, community, and a little duck-related chaos make for a pretty great afternoon.

There’s something special about slowing down and creating with your hands.

Our residents spent time this week working on beautiful embroidery pieces—each stitch adding a little more life, color, and personality to their designs. From choosing colors to focusing on each detail, this activity is more than art… it’s mindfulness, creativity, and a chance to feel proud of something uniquely their own.

Moments like these support fine motor skills, encourage focus, and create a calming, meaningful experience. And let’s be honest… they make some pretty stunning pieces too.
