A lump is not the only possible sign of breast cancer. Changes such as swelling, skin dimpling, discharge, redness, pain or a change in breast size or shape are worth discussing with a healthcare provider. Knowing what is normal for you can make it easier to notice a change. If something feels different, start the conversation.

Thank you to our NICU team!

Dr. Tolsma and the amazing NICU team at Community Medical Center treated our families at Ronald McDonald House Missoula to a delicious breakfast for dinner, complete with eggs, bacon, French toast, and pancakes!

But what makes this meal so special isn't what was on the plates. It's who was behind it.

These are the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who stand beside our families during some of the scariest and most uncertain moments of their lives. They're the ones caring for tiny babies, reassuring worried parents, and offering hope when it's needed most.

Because when you have a sick child, you have a sick family. The worry, the exhaustion, the sleepless nights, and the uncertainty affect everyone. And while the babies are receiving extraordinary medical care, their parents need someone looking after them, too.

And on Friday, that compassion extended beyond the NICU and right into our House.

For parents spending long days at their baby's bedside, coming home to a warm meal means one less thing to worry about. It's a chance to sit down, catch their breath, and feel cared for themselves.

To Dr. Tolsma and the entire Community Medical Center NICU team, thank you for the extraordinary care you give our families' precious babies and for remembering that the parents need a little extra love and care, too.

If volunteers knock on your door this week, please answer and participate in the county health needs assessment survey. This survey helps healthcare providers throughout Missoula County determine where to focus our resources.

Our volunteers are out in the communities, going door to door to collect anonymous data to help inform the next Community Health Improvement Plan.

They are in Missoula, Seeley, Clinton, Bonner, Frenchtown, Lolo and East Missoula this week! Your household may be randomly selected to participate. Our safety vest wearing volunteers look forward to seeing you!
