Our Wayne County Hospital team dressed in pink to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month and show our support for those affected by breast cancer. We stand with survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and encourage everyone to prioritize regular screenings and early detection.

Together, we wear pink to spread awareness, show compassion, and remind our community that no one has to face this journey alone. 💗🎗️

Wayne County Hospital is delighted to announce that Dr. Stephanie Southard, DO, will return to WCH, effective Monday, October 26, 2026.

Dr. Southard will start seeing patients on Monday, November 2nd. The office will be located at 1104 N Main Street (currently the Smith Chiropractic, P.S.C building). The office hours will be Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am-5:00 pm. To schedule your appointment, please call 606-340-0340.

The Annual Wayne County Hospital Golf Tournament was held on Friday, September 18th at the Monticello Country Club.

Nursing-Patient Care Coordinator (RN)
Day Shift (Full-Time Position) possible weekend & holiday rotation

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for direction of patient care activities on the Medical/Surgical Unit. Coordinates staff in the Medical/Surgical Unit, provides coordination of operational and nursing activities. Consults with staff, physicians, and MS Manager on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. The PCC has accountability for assigned areas requiring a presence on all shifts as needed. This position may require taking patient assignment(s) based on staffing needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work in a positive teamwork environment. This team member will possess professional customer service skills, strong computer skills, and ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure: RN - current nurse licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky, BLS, ACLS, PALS

EXPERIENCE: (1 year) Previous acute care experience preferred.
