After an exciting weekend, it’s wonderful to read this Faith based book about how to combat burnout. “Benevolent detachment” or getting untangled from the things that we care about because God has the plans. The author suggests practicing this by taking a “one minute pause”. Soothing your fight or flight response by repeating “I give everyone and everything to you God.” Cultivating a quiet heart… just for sixty seconds! The last sentence of the chapter reads “You get to break free, dear ones, “like a horse in open country” (Isaiah 63:13). Break free from the good work you do, the family, societal issues just for a moment!
