This is wonderful news for children and families in our community! 💙

Having a local Child Advocacy Center means children who may have experienced abuse can receive specialized, child friendly forensic interviews in a safe and supportive environment. It also helps law enforcement, child protective services, medical providers, and mental health professionals work together… reducing the number of times a child may have to retell a painful experience.

This is such an important step toward protecting children, supporting families, and strengthening resources here in Surry County. 🧸💙 Children's Center of Northwest North Carolina // Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina

Children who are victims of abuse in Surry County no longer have to travel hours and wait months to tell their stories, and the people who need to hear them
