🔨 **Want to Help Rebuild Generations? We Have Projects!** 💛

Not every rebuilding project requires our general contractor—and that's where we could use some extra hands from our community!

We have several projects coming up that can be completed by volunteers with the right skills, and **we can make ourselves available when YOU are available.** You don't have to wait for one of our scheduled Saturday workdays.

Our current project list includes:

🪵 **Lay deck boards** on decking that has already been framed
🔨 **Frame out a wall**
🚿 **Hang vanities** in two bathrooms
🚪 **Install an exterior door**
🎨 **Paint interior doors**

Some of these projects are ready to move forward now, while others are waiting on materials.

We're trying to be good stewards of every dollar entrusted to Generations, so we're not purchasing materials before they're needed. In some cases, we've also reached out to businesses and community partners about possible material donations and are waiting to hear back.

So here's what we're asking:

**If you have construction, carpentry, remodeling, painting, or general handyman skills and would be willing to take on one of these projects, reach out to us!**

Tell us what you're comfortable doing and when you're available. We'll let you know which projects are ready, coordinate the materials, and work with your schedule.

You might have a free afternoon.
A couple of hours after work.
A Saturday morning.
Or a small crew looking for a way to give back.

**We can work with that.** 💛

You may not have time, but have materials you can donate; paint, dry wall, outlets, etc.

Every deck board laid, wall framed, vanity hung, door installed, and paintbrush picked up moves us one step closer to reopening Generations and welcoming our people home.

And if you don't have construction skills, you can still help: **share this post.** Someone in your circle may have exactly the skills we're looking for.

So very excited to be a finalist!

We’ve officially narrowed it down to our Trellis Non-Profit Grant finalists. 💚

First, thank you to everyone who nominated an organization and to every nonprofit that took the time to apply. There are a lot of really good people doing really good work in our community, and reading through these applications reminded us of that.

A big congratulations to our finalists:

🌱 CASA by the Lakes
🌱 Generations Adult Day Service
🌱 HOPE Calloway
🌱 Murray Calloway County Senior Citizens Center
🌱 Journey Bags

From here, we’ve sent the finalist applications to a group of independent judges to help us make the final decision. And we're glad we did, because choosing between these organizations is not easy.

Two of these nonprofits will each receive more than $30,000 in marketing services from Trellis, and we’re excited to see what that can help them do.

We’ll announce the winners Friday, September 4th.

Thank you again to everyone who nominated, applied, shared, and helped us get the word out. This has been a really fun thing to be a part of, and we can’t wait for Friday.

🇺🇸 An Incredible Gift from Vfw Post Murray Post 6291 ❤️

Last week, we had the honor of accepting a $4,080 donation from VFW Post 6291—the proceeds from an entire evening of bingo dedicated to Generations!

We are incredibly grateful to RJ and everyone at Post 6291 who made this possible. Giving an entire night of bingo to support Generations was an extraordinary act of generosity, and we don’t take that kind of support lightly.

As we continue rebuilding and working toward reopening our doors, gifts like this are helping us get closer and closer to welcoming our Generations family back home.

Our community continues to remind us that we aren’t rebuilding alone. There are people and organizations standing beside us who believe adults with disabilities and complex needs deserve a place where they are known, valued, supported, and given a true sense of belonging.

To RJ and the entire VFW Post 6291 family—THANK YOU. 🇺🇸❤️

Thank you for believing in Generations, for investing in the people we serve, and for helping us move one big step closer to reopening.

🦃 IT’S WEAVER CHALLENGE TIME! 🦃

The Weaver Challenge began August 1, and we are officially fundraising for Generations! ❤️

This year, we have a $15,000 fundraising goal, and here’s the exciting part: every dollar donated up to $5,000 will be MATCHED for our Generations Endowment Fund! That means your gift can go twice as far toward helping secure the future of Generations Adult Day Services. 🙌

We have several ways to get involved:

🏃‍♀️ THANKSGIVING ALL-ABILITIES 5K, this event will be held around the first week of November, and we are currently looking for business sponsors! This one will be exciting and there’s more details to come soon!

🍽️ TASTE OF MURRAY PASSPORTS
We are also putting together our Taste of Murray passports and are looking for local restaurants and retail businesses who would like to participate. Currently participating are:

🔨 **SKILLED VOLUNTEERS NEEDED — AUGUST 22** 🔨

Our rebuilding work continues, and for our next Volunteer Workday, we have a very specific need.

📅 **Saturday, August 22**
⏰ **8:00 AM**
📍 **Generations Adult Day Services**

Our goal is to assemble a **6-person skilled volunteer crew**, in addition to the two individuals already working with us.

**Here's where we need help:**

🔨 **1 volunteer — Back Deck**
Assist with framing the new back deck.

🏗️ **2 volunteers — Kitchen / Fire Wall**
Demolish the existing kitchen half wall and help frame the new fire-rated wall.

🪨 **3 volunteers — Front Deck**
Dig post holes and mix/pour concrete to prepare for the front wheelchair ramp.

**If we have additional experienced volunteers beyond six, we can absolutely put more hands to work!**

Because of the type of work planned for this day, we're especially looking for individuals with **construction, carpentry, framing, concrete, remodeling, or similar hands-on experience.**

Every wall framed, every post set, and every hour volunteered moves us closer to the day we can welcome our Generations family home.

🛒 WE HAVE 4… CAN YOU HELP US GET TO 50?

We just received our first update from Kroger Community Rewards, and 4 households are currently supporting Generations Adult Day Services just by shopping at Kroger!

Those four households have already generated $14 for Generations—and it didn't cost them anything extra.

Now we're setting a goal: 50 households! ❤️

If you already shop at Kroger, you can help every time you buy groceries. Simply log into your Kroger account, go to Community Rewards, and select:
