I strongly encourage my patients to eat whole foods; however, I realize that it’s not easy. Almost 50 percent of foods and 40 percent of beverages sold at supermarkets are considered ultra-processed. These foods have been tied to chronic diseases, and a recent study links them to premature death. Here are eight tips to help lower your consumption of ultra-processed foods.
